Mark Boxer

Mark Boxer is Senior Vice President and Group President of ACS Government Healthcare Solutions. He is responsible for an organization that is a national leader in the administration and delivery of healthcare programs and services. His group helps government entities improve healthcare’s:

  • Accessibility
  • Quality
  • Affordability

 

 

 

 
Previously, Boxer served as senior vice president of Global Technology Services for ACS, overseeing the Offices of the:

  • Chief Information Officer (CIO)
  • Chief Administrative Officer
  • Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
  • Systems Integration/Implementations Group
  • Offshore Application Centers

Boxer joined ACS from WellPoint, where he served as president and CEO of the Operations, Technology and Government Services business unit. He also held various leadership roles at that company, including:

  • Chief Operations and Technology Officer
  • Chief Information Officer
  • President of Consumer Health Plans
  • Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer

Previously, Boxer served as:

  • Senior Vice President of Information Technology and eCommerce at CIGNA HealthCare
  • Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Technology Operations at Healthsource
  • Multiple executive roles at Hewlett-Packard

His career began at Northeast Utilities in engineering and operations management.

Boxer serves on the boards of:

  • University of Connecticut Foundation
  • Stevens Johnson Syndrome Foundation

An advocate and champion for employment of the disabled, he received the prestigious Tony Coelho Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Award in 2007 and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) “Justice for All” Award in 2008 (an honor he shared with two members of Congress).

The following degrees:

  • Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut
  • Master of Science degree in Information Systems from Drexel University
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics, from the University of Hartford

He has served as a senior fellow in the Center for Health Systems Research at the University of Connecticut, and on the adjunct faculty.
