We take email for granted these days. Government employees and constituents expect to communicate via email easily and securely. But in many government IT environments, managing email across many agencies and departments can be far from easy if multiple messaging platforms are in use. Xerox’s enterprise email services provide a streamlined, efficient, and much more cost-effective way of managing messaging capabilities.
Because Xerox currently has more than 500,000 email accounts under management for dozens of government and commercial customers, we understand that there are a variety of business needs and requirements that must be considered when selecting an email solution. Therefore, we can offer a private cloud, public cloud or a more traditional on-premise enterprise email solution to address our customer’s needs. As part of any engagement model, Xerox can seamlessly blend mobility management, enhanced security and identity management providing the client maximum flexibility in their choice of email platforms under one provider.
The state of Florida selected Xerox to provide a private cloud enterprise email solution—allowing scalability and flexibility while also meeting government security requirements such as CJIS and HIPAA compliance. The state of Florida projects to save up to $15 million over the contract term and will leverage the statewide contract, managed by the Southwood Shared Resource Center (SSRC), by making it available to local governments and school districts across Florida, thereby creating a significant cost-savings across government. The state’s multiple email platforms—currently installed as 30+ separate email systems—will be migrated to one solution, providing an increased and consistent level of service for all end users. The solution provides a unified global address book for easy communication across the state and also provides usage reports and other agency-specific data required for proper charge-back to entities participating in the program.
